I have recently bought a pair of the embossed super ape stars and the camo super ape stars from China. Now before you all start I knew these had to be fake by the price/location etc before buying them, but fancied a dabble anyway. However, when they arrived I realised that the referece site (geocities) for fake super ape stars is seriously out of date with regards to the new fakes out there.
1. Both pairs came with all four pairs of laces with the plain white ones on the shoes out the box.
2. The ape key chain was attached with a metal chain not fishing wire to the outside of the right shoe.
3. The paper in the box is almost like plastic (but matches the pictures of the suede super ape stars in their box on the geocities reference site.)
4. The tongue colour is consistent and the bathing ape logo is printed with black ink on both shoes.
5. The heel tabs are proportional.
6. There are different serial numbers in each shoe.
7. The camo print is very close to original colours (unlike the ones on the geocities site)
Therefore, in my opinion, the information on that site is now redundant. Things that I have noticed about my shoes which don't quite check out:
1. They come from China, in a variety of sizes (including UK half sizes) and cost £40 shipped to UK (although if buying them from a UK seller off ebay this wont be a give away!)
2. The camo print on the innersole of the shoe looks overly green and the bape heads don't quite look right (although this is difficult to verify without clear pictures of the authentic innersoles)
3. The ape key chain is attached to the top most lace on the right shoe rather than through the eyelet (although any self respecting con man could easily do this himself)
4. I can't really fault the white embossed ones on any other level.
5. The camo print on the camo ape stars does not have any clear bape heads within it.
6. The material on the camo ones is canvas (like the g5's) not the softer material that you see on close ups of the authentic ones.

I hope people find this info useful, I have seen the same shoes that I bought going for a pretty penny on ebay and these people could be getting stung because according to the geocities site their shoes check out. I have also posted some pics (sorry not fresh out the box - I have worn them) I can post more pics if people need them, but only have a phone camera.

I had originally ordered these from Sportiela, however got an email a day later apologising that they didn't have my size UK10.5. Have ordered another pair vfrom them, but still really want these so I'll pass the request out to the forum.

Hello. What an awesome site. I just stumbled on it. I am building a RUN DMC shadow box and I am trying to collect pieces that best represent vintage RUN DMC.

I am looking for one of the leather tracksuit tops that they wore in the 80's. I think it was a superstar suit but I am new to all of this technology.

I am only framing it and will never be wearing it. I could have any size or color.
What would probably be best for me would to find one that is damaged somewhere because I can hide a few defects in my display and save a few bucks.
Any Ideas?? I have some cool items to trade.
