I've got a few early pairs where the stripes and heel tabs are cracking and the coating is coming off. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of fixing them?

I don't mind having a go at painting them, but is it the actual material that is crumbling or is it a coating that I can rub down to a base material to paint on. Cheers for any help.

I recently posted in the intro forum about my impending nuptials and the 13 pairs of superstars I'm buying for my wedding party. I bought some purple laces which are a great colour match for my purple wedding theme but by all accounts they are a bit skinny. I need them to be more of a regal purple/cadbury's purple in colour but I want to find some thicker laces. I've been looking and I don't think the 20-25mm ones are suitable, they are a bit OTT for my tastes but the 15mm ones look like they might be about right but I can't seem to find them in the right colour.

Do you folks have any recommendations on where I might be able to find some reasonably priced fattie laces so I can tidy up the laces a bit?

The other option is to stick with the thinner laces, which to be fair do perfectly fit the diamante buckles I'm using on the girls pairs. However I have got some bigger buckles coming so can go bigger. In either case are there some guides on how to best lace these bad boys up?

Any guidance you can offer to the Noob is much appreciated. The clock is ticking only 5 weeks to go...
