hello all!
im completely new to this site, i hail from canada.
been a huge fan of adidas brand ever since i started earning my own money and being able to buy my own clothes and shoes (no more 20dollar walmart brand for me). the way the brand name spoke to me adidas originals, impossible is nothing and the quality and feel of all their products had me hooked.
i basically stumbled upon this site searching the internet on ways to spot fake adidas. bought a pair of jeremy scotts from ebay...guess what? they were fake.
well you live and you learn. so some details on the man; in terms of sneaker culture my knowledge isnt on point, im just one of those guys who appreciated a good looking pair of shoes. as far as my sneaker collection goes, its completely dominated with adidas. got the mr happystan smiths going on with varying styles of forum mids, ciero mids, couple superstars, wackload of basketball shoes and theres a couple stragglers in there that i forget the name of. all in all without my basketball shoes i have about 12 pairs of adidas. (not including those fakes i bought)
I've heard the stories on here about them basically having one foot as a display model that may or may not look battered or worn/exposed (due to sunlight etc) and the other foot being brand new, and I'm wondering if any of you would or have taken the plunge buying anything really rare or expensive from them knowing this?
I don't want to spend a large amount on something that looks battered but at the same time, I'm wondering if it's always the case that they have the one foot battered thing?
Also, does this go for the shoe box as well?
If I spend a larger amount, I'd really hope to be getting immaculate shoes and box - is there any hope of that with Sportie L.A?
Anyone have very good experience of buying from them?
Cheers,
B.
Hi schuh freaks,
i'm originally from "bow-down-to-the-capital" Berlin city. Born in the East and moved over to the West when the wall was still up. Sold everything i had 25 years later and moved with my lovely wife and our 2
s to the US a couple of years ago.
I have a good life here now and finally make enough money to buy more pairs of sneakers without getting bankrupt each and every month.
I have around 20 pairs. Mostly worn, mostly Adidas and only 3 SSs ![]()
Still love video games (yes MAME rules) and will always love good 80s and 90s original reggae vibes.
Working in IT and about to buy a VW Scirocco.
So yeah here i am and i say hi to everbody.
Bow down to the Superstar
Hello!
I've visited this site various times in the past few years (in a lurking/finding info kind of way), my fella I think was a member or at least he used to come to the site quite often when he got sick a few years ago (he passed away last year) and had took alot of pictures ready to post on this site but I don’t remember now if he actually posted them. I had bought him his first pair of Superstars (I've been wearing Adidas since I was a kid and was massively into hiphop) and he got hooked and he ended up with more than me. He and I do have some non-Adidas also but I wont dwell on that!
Some of my own are pretty beaten up as I wear them everywhere and my supplies are dwindling and looking pretty pathetic but I am much more picky about what I would buy these days and my taste has changed somewhat. I’m not half as knowledgeable as people on this forum but I do have a long running soft spot for Superstars. Not bought much in last few years due to lack of cash money so afraid my collection may look a bit rubbish.
I wear my beaten up Nastase (non-supas) alot as they're so comfy to walk to work in even though I don't really like the style of the bottom of them and they wouldn't be a choice of mine now - I got them a few years ago and decided to wear them only last year. I do miss my Superstar Vintage Snake ones though as they were a favourite but I destroyed them by wearing them almost every day in all weathers and I wouldn't mind another pair to replace them.
Joined as a member today and wanted to introduce myself as I may have a few questions to ask your kind selves in the next week or so as I will be selling some of his collection on eBay in the near future and maybe a couple of my own (about 11 items, 4 of which Supers - Size 9 UK). I have suspicions that 1 or maybe even 2 of his pairs may be a fake so not wanting to list them if they are, but can’t find the answers I need after searching.
Hope that wasn't too much/not enough or completely irrelevant.....I’m Maria by the way and live in NorthWest England, didn't mention my job as I don't like to think about it and looking for other options as I don't like having bosses. I’m over 21.......
Hi Guy's,
My Names Matthew I am from Cheshire and am 33 years old. I started to collect Superstars in March after finding out about the "Underworlds" I fell in love. So being a fan of the band got me into collecting these babes.
I now search ebay, crooked tounges, rareadidas.com et al for Superstars every day. I only have a small collection of 18 my top three pairs are.
1. Underworlds
2. RHCP'S
3. Superstar Vintage(413207)
Hope this is an ok intro
