OK I recently purchased a pair of Ian Brown superstars on ebay from a decent seller who was absolutely sure the trainers were 100% authentic. However when they arrived I was less than pleased with them. A couple of details I have noticed are:
1. The IB double eyelet plaque is PLASTIC!!!! This should be metal with a stamped trefoil logo on the back of it. It should also have 3 black stripes on the front, this one has neither. It looks cheap and tacky.
2. The trainers do not come with the correct laces. The should come with a red pair, a green pair, a brown pair and a red and gold checked pair. They should also all have the gold (metal) IB endings on them, the red pair with these does not.
3. The leather is shockingly green, now I realize that the authentic black leather used as a green tint but these are really very green. And the quality of glueing is not to be desired.

This is copied from the email I have sent him, does this seem reasonable grounds for fakes??? I will post pics when my digi cam batteries have charged..

This guy is an obvious fraudster! First i paid him stating how happy i was with the buy etc, how the last ones i purchased were fake etc and he sends me this message on ebay

"im going to give you a full refund as im only 95% sure of their authenticity and dont want to spoil ur b'day- hope you appreciate this.

WTF! So i reply to him thus:

So whats the deal? How can you be 95% sure of authenticity? Surely they are real or they aren't? I mean where did you buy them?

Can you provide pics of the detailing? Ie is there an adidas logo under the metal IB Logo?

Man this sucks I've been after a pair of these for ages and now your telling me that your selling something that your not 100% sure is genuine. What kinda way is that to conduct business?

Then i blocked his punk ass and reported him to Ebay.

So the guy uses the name soldmynanone-bay (i also believe he has a new ID hardest-way-to-make-an-easy-living) he is based in Nottingham in the UK, he uses the email adress of [email protected] and the email address his ebay account is connected to is [email protected]

I dunno if this is any help to anyone but if it stops another user being as gutted as i was then it was worth it.
