i've been wearing shell toes for over fifteen years, outside of my work boots; which are no longer since i came across a pair of superstar safetys recently, and a pair of dress shoes that my wife made me wear to our wedding; you know honestly the pair of black-on-black i had would have been more fitting. anyways, they are all i wear; i still have my first pair which are seriously falling apart, i use them as grub shoes now to do work around the house. i started picking up different color schemes awhile back and when the 35ths hit i went nuts and picked up quite a few of those. since then the desire for more has grown. they knew me down at the store were i would buy mine at and started actually saving me new styles in my size when they came in. my wife thinks i have a problem and i questioned it a couple times too. i didn't think there was a whole sub-culture for this and now i feel at home *grins hella big - i found my kind* i came across a site when i was just messin around late one night and pondered 'what if' adidas made steel toes, i thought it was just a dream, who woulda thunk it, they do. then i came across this site and others that have frequent news and updates about coming models; the caviars and those darth vaders are sic. like i said i have a few of the 35ths, a ton of the regular superstars and IIs either in black-on-white or white-on-black. my liltle bro picked me up a pair of the vegas lux when he went to the allstar game and have since purchased a couple of the other ones in that set, needs two more as i have just found out. i have a pair of the holloweens and just saw a christmas pair on ebay. the flames have been fueled and my wife is gonna kill me when she sees all that i have ordered, *damn you credit cards with your buy-now-pay-later and killer interest rates* i'll lay em all out here in bit and throw up some pics. this is gonna sound lame, or maybe not, but is there some kind of one stop check list or gallery of styles that have been released? oh yeah and do they make the samples in any other size besides nine, thats all I seem to find them in. peace and tahnk s for havin me.

Deadliest Catch [Discovery, Tuesday] I don't know why I like it, I just do, the other half htes it, so that must be a good enough reason!

Hello fellas. Im new in here and im curious about your NBA Superstars.

Few weeks ago i ordered my pair from www.pickyourshoes.com
I bought Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks (both clear stripes series). PICS COMMING as i arrive home (im at work atm )
Can anyone tell me wether thayre real? I am a bit worried because the blue grizzly painting wears off the inner side of both shoes. The outer side of shoes and paintings remains undamaged....

I found this site yesterday and I think all my prayers have been answered. I've always loved SS and Adidas in general (never really been a N*ke fan, they just don't have it) but I've always worn SS until they literally fell off my feet when I would purchase another pair. Then last year I happened to buy a pair of Superstar Chrome UK 10.5 (always a damn hard size to find) I and couldn't believe what a work of art they were so I didn't wear them, apart from the first dance on my wedding day but that's another story!

So on the honeymoon I went to the Originals Shop in NYC and purchased a pair of Superstar skate, the ones in Grey/Black/Yellow and again (I know all the collectors out there know what I mean) I look at them and think: I can't wear these, they have that "new trainer" smell - how intoxicating is that. Serioulsy the wife now wants to display them on the wall! I also bought the 35th Aniversary book and what a damn fine read it is as well.

Anyway, maybe now I'll some kind soul will answer all those questions that have been nagging me for ages, the main one being whose idea at Adidas was it to start with the Originals thing? Was it just someone in the marketing dept who thought it would be a short lived marketing ploy and did they realise it would be as sucessful?

Also, I always wanted a pair of SS Zoom with the colour code known as Alabaster and Deep Red - anyone have these in their collection? I think they were released around 2003/2004 but in the US only.

Seems there aren't many ppl from the US here. I have to say not many people wearing em in my school either, except like plain white ones and stuff.

Are they more popular over seas, most ppl here wear them AF1's. Those that care about shoes anyways.
