Did they just start putting that metal button thing on the bottom of the laces, a couple of years ago?

I hate it and think it's ugly.

On the other hand, I'm generally too lazy to unlace the shoes to get rid of it. I'm thinking about buying some tin snips.

What's the deal with that thing?

Hey everyone! I'm a fellow Adidas Superstar nut and I'm new to this forum.

Here's my story: I wear size 14. For those who don't wear anything bigger than 12, you're lucky -- most stores don't stock anything larger than 12, much less have much variety.

When the Web first became popular in the mid-nineties, I rejoiced that I could now find a larger selection of big shoes on the Internet. Problem was, without trying on shoes, who knows if they'd fit properly. In Nikes I'm a 15. In some shoes, I'm a 13.

The first time I tried searching for shoes online, I was wearing a great pair of Superstars -- my first and only pair at that time. I figured that since they fit great and come in many varieties, I should just play it safe and order another pair of Superstars.

And so the addiction began

Since then I've probably owned over 200 pair. I hate when they get really dirty so I admit I've thrown away many great pair that would probably be valuable now. Oh well -- they're just shoes and they served their purpose, right?

Here are some older shoes that are almost on their way out. I'm particularly fond of the shiny-chrome colored pair.

   

I figured I'd ask this here since there are inevitably some Run DMC fans around here as well as some djs (or so I've been told). When Run DMC was in its prime I was too young to go see them and I'm curious about something...

In the track "Beats to the Rhyme" JMJ drops a ton of different scratch samples as well as other samples. When they performed live, did he drop all these samples live or did they just play the instrumental of the track? I'm curious because doing all that live would be damn impressive.

Thought i'd better introduce myself after being rude and getting another thread in first.

From UK, been looking for a nice pair of superstar 2's for a while in 9.5 but not much luck, in the colour I wanted anyway.

Seems like my first superstar purchase isn't going well, as they appear to be fake. If any kind person could have a quick look at my other thread and give their opinions, that'd be great.

Sorry for the lack of introduction, but i'd just like to clear this up before I complain to the person I bought these off.

From ebay, the guy has 99.4% positive feedback, the advert seemed legit, i've recieved the shoes and I was happy with them untill I read your 'Spot a fake' post on here.

Just wondering if anybody on here could give me an idea to as to if these are real or not.

The adicolor logos on the rear of the shoes are in different places on both shoes, and theyve got the small 'heel tags' on them, also the serial numbers are the same. I guess they are fake? I haven't named the ebay seller incase this is against the rules for some reason, I will gladly do this if people ask me to.

hey guys, my brother is looking to get some new shoes and the seller he is dealing with sent him these pics. i'm believe they are legit from what i see, but i'm going to have to ask the pro's. the etched one's seem a little iffy to me. anyway's look forward to the responses, thanks in advance!

Hey all, I'm obviously new here (first post and all). I'm 23 and from Indianapolis, IN in the US (since there seem to be a lot of UK'ers here).

I wore Superstars as a kid and just bought my first adult pair last week after winning a $250 gift certificate from a dj'ing competition I won. I bought my second pair yesterday.

Right now I've got:
Adidas Superstar 2.5's (white, black stripes w/ gold outline)
Classic Superstar 2's (white w/ black suade stripes)

I wear a size 13 which painfully makes a lot of the hard to find Superstars super hard for me to find. I'd like to get more colorful as time goes on but have my eye on Superstar I Jam's that came out a while back. Don't think I'll ever find a pair of those.

So that's me. I don't know a whole lot about Superstars but I'm interested in starting a collection and maybe contributing around here over time. If anyone's got any questions about dj'ing, I'd be happy to help with that too.
