Dropping in on the family to say hey.

Sanpanico here. Sneaker lover. Got 8 pairs and growing. Started off finding a pair of vintage Superstars with the royal blue/red/royal blue stripes. (After a few years adidas re-released these shoes with a navy blue stripe.) In addition, my personal faves are my brown/brown stripes, tan/brown stripes. also a pair of old chukka style leather/suede trekking shoes. (I know, they're not superstars, but they hold a special place in my closet)

I used to DJ in and around the Washington, DC area until I "grew up" and got married, family, etc. Still got mad love for the music scene, and sneaks especially. There's a decent shoe store in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia metro area) that specialises in the more eclectic styles. I used to go on the hunt there, but sadly they don't carry supes any longer. Perhaps that isn't such a bad thing, as it means that every sod you see on the street won't be kicking around in adidas!

I have put a few pictures together for comparison purposes, now what you have to bear in mind is the price paid....
So - cheapest to most expensive goes,

All white - £19
Eldridge - £30
plant - £84
Luker - £100

As you can see there is very little between them (maybe the plants tumbled leather is the biggest) which begs the question, why the fuck have I got four pairs??? Confused

I thank a you Smile

Oh.... if you missed out on the Lukers I wouldn't worry about it, as Sneakerphile said just get a pair of Eldridge's and paint the stripes tongue

getting curious about these shoes as i want to start more running etc and need a new pair of runners. I know how they work etc, but just wanted any feedback from anyone who uses them.

I want to know how they go as a running shoe? comfortable? durable?
The shape etc arent like most runners of todays market. If i was purely looking at it from a running perspective, would i be better getting something else? Or is the technology worth buying?

thanks Very Happy
