No, thats not what I am saying. The blue plaques give information about the place they are located.

I thought it was a generally accepted term to describe people that do stencils and shit.

He's hoping he'll become famous and end up with a blue plaque.
It's a form of bravado.

Well the shoe is the London shoe and the plaque is a London icon, the other artists/shoes in the series are from different cities.

If they didn't have that stupid blue circle they would be nice, but they do so therefore they're shit

Maybe there are better icons of the city than a blue plaque.

Shame London doesn't have any world famous landmarks or other iconic things like say a brightly coloured bus or something... They would have made good icons...

red buses

tower bridge
post office tower

Eastenders? Laughing

Not being from London, i wouldnt know, but the skyline, the underground, buckingham palace, hyde park, red buses, black cabs, the west end are all things i recognise as being part of London.

If i came up with a superstar with a liverbird on it, im sure the vast majority would know where its from.

Nah, just making a point about the very thing you accused me of.

And as for bravado, it does not require a great stretch to use that to describe anyone who writes their name up on walls or for that matter even signs their work. I think if you are proud of your work you should put your name to it.

Have another look at the shoe. It has a London skyline and references the underground. Laughing

Must say fair play to you Pochoir for coming on here and discussing your design / inspiration etc.
Been a lot of times when peeps on here would like to say a thing or two to a supe designer. It's a passionate place.
