It's worth noting the blue plaque is a bit of a theme for Pochoir. Here's a picture from cans festival (the tunnel Banksy and some other artists did. Was an awesome collection down there):



So it's not purely the London thing with the plaque. Like if Kaws did a supe and it didn't have the skull.

Must say fair play to you Pochoir for coming on here and discussing your design / inspiration etc.
Been a lot of times when peeps on here would like to say a thing or two to a supe designer. It's a passionate place.

Cheers, I really would not have worked on any other type of shoe, I have loved and worn only superstars (with one exception) since I was 12. I understand how important the superstar is and I did what I thought was best with it. I am really happy with it as I guess anyone on this site would be if they were given the chance to create their own ideal superstar. I didn't come on here to convince people to like it or buy it so any nasty comments don't really bother me. I honestly just thought, from my own experience that given the chance I would love ask one of the the 35th series designers (for example) about what they did and how they did it so dropped in to say hello.

Like to disagree on that numpty stuff P. I accept there's way more skill in top level freehand stuff but dismissing stencils as unskilled is just ignorant. When you start getting up there in detail and layers it takes a real good eye to get things right, not forgetting mad patience (spent 20hrs+ hunched over the table cutting away at a one-shot piece before).

None taken but thats a bit like saying anyone can write 'R.Mutt' on a toilet or anyone can throw a shark in a tank. The "but anyone could have done that" argument is the default Daily Mail art critique. What sort of non stencil graffiti are you referring to that requires hard yards? Basquiat, Haring, Seen, wildstyle, subway, tagging?

No need for the ignorant comment Reid, I didn't say there wasn't some skill involved in the planning of the higher end stuff but most of it isn't like that and at the end of the day, following a line with a scalpel doesn't exactly take training !

Gotta agree with that. Sorry if the ignorant bit came off a bit harsh, it just seemed like you were slamming the whole scene, not just the stormtroopers/banksy bites round town centres.

So they wrote their names on a wall a few times with a spraycan cos they saw the cool kids doing it, big fucking deal !
