Sorry for the misunderstanding Shellshock. That was meant for newbies and others who haven't done their homework.... I know the majority of the active members here know quite a bit more than I do. This is one of the reasons I joined on here.
Why yes Babylatin, that is my picture...
Thanks for the welcome Manus and Galaxy... Nice to meet you too.

No worries man you'll soon get the hang of things round here. Just take everything aimed at you with a pinch of salt, don't take any of it personally and everyting soon irie.

Jeeze la weeze!
In my search for the elusive 35th "I love paris" (I think it's #24), I have stumbled across a dealer that sells both real deal collectors shoes and knock offs. He told me that he usually doesn't sell knock offs unless the original is impossible to find and the customer tells him to just get the knock offs. I asked him if he could find any knock off 35th's cause I was curious. He told me that he could get exact replicas of 34 of the 35.
WTF???? This is the biggest load of crap! I am so mad. I asked if there was any way to tell the fakes from the real deal. He said yes for most of the knock offs out there, but not the ones he gets! This has saddened me so...
I don't know what to do. My little world has been turned upside down...

Pics of which ones? I already requested pics of the fake "I love Paris" cause my curiosity has boiled over. Which ones would you like me to ask for?

There's no need, really, they'll be the same "perfect" copies we've all seen a million times.

I don't know, this guy sounded pretty convincing. I wasn't even inquiring about fakes to start with either. I was asking about some other collectables... He talked the talk and I'm sure he understood that I could tell a fake. This is why I asked for some pics of the 35th's I've been looking for. I really don't want to spend good money on knock offs, but I cant find the real ones and I plan on wearing them anyway...

They'll be exactly the same fakes we've been seeing for ages, no doubt, no question.
If not, we'd have seen them already.
A seller, be he fake or legit, just isn't going to look at these things under the same microscope we did in 2005.

This is true mr.pure... you guys are the masters. I don't doubt you one bit. Lets see if this guy follows up with some pics though. Don't want to get ahead of our selfs...
Yes, Minty, I understand this. I do not support fakes at all. It's funny, cause most people don't understand that the majority of money that is made from selling faux products goes to support organized crime and terrorism. This is bad...
I would, however, buy a fake Top Secret #35... This is so I could have a pair to wear as my dance shoes. The leather bottom would be excellent on a ballroom floor. Well worth the chump change. Doubtful about ever finding a replica of that...
Other than that, I'll stick with a solid "NO" to fakes. I can be patient and find a legit pair of the "I love Paris" anniversaries. They could even be used... Hell, I plan on wearing them. I could have bought knock offs a long time ago... There out there. I just can't justify it in my own mind. Wouldn't feel right...
