I think he's talking about the actual payment and not being charged 4% for the privilege.

Sounds like tip of the day to me!

I wonder how long it takes before all payments are marked as gifts and PayPal gets zero percentage - that would be sweet (even though it's never going to happen, I know)

Cheers bhara, used this last night.

From what i could work out it's only possible if you send money, i couldn't find an option to do it if you are paying for something or sending money to a request. There was also a 1% charge which you can choose to pay yourself or pass on to the recipient.

Much better than the 4% they normally cream off. Smile

yh you can only do this if your paying someone
no charge at all
dont know what your doing to make the 1% thing happen because i dont get that when i send money as gift

So let me get this straight:

If I'm sending money (i.e. if buying soups), of course I don't get charged for using PPal, BUT if I'm waiting for cash (i.e. if someone's buying from me), and they send payment marked as a gift, then I won't get dinged %4???

Please verify as I've a number of items to/from happening over the next few weeks!!!!

If this is the case - you da man Bhara!

Thats about it.
From what i could work out but i may have done it wrong (hence the 1%)

The other person has to initiate the transaction by using the 'send money', they then get the choice of 'personal' then the option to send it as a 'gift'.

If you request money from them or if its linked straight from a sale on ebay etc then i don't think there is a 'gift' option for them to use.

Hope that helps.
