Not completely finished as I've still got to dye the inside.
I might also dye the stripes and heel baby blue but for the moment, I'm quite happy with them as they are.
They've taken feckin' years, literally !
But mostly cos I get distracted easily and didn't bother ordering the dye until very recently.
I removed all the paint with abrasives to get it as close to suede/nubuck as possible.
Kind of fiddly if you don't want to destroy the stitching.
Some of you may not know that the upper sides are split between two pieces of leather that are joined beneath the middle stripe.
Unfortunately the front and back pieces were slightly different colours, resulting in the difference in shades from the front to the back.
I'll definitely be doing this again and just hope the leather is the same throughout next time.
