You two aren't seriously saying you've never heard of getting a console chipped? 
Nutters! You get it chipped, it lets you play copied games and with the hard drive you can store full games on there and just play them striaght off the console without even needing a disc

Can do it to anything really, I don't think they've cracked the Wii yet though but that's a mental piece of kit anyway

The controller debacle perfectly illustrates what a kafka-esque beast Sony has become, but also hints at it's lack of balls.
Sony has a pending litigation over use of rumble in it's PS2 controllers.
Sony announces that PS3 won't have rumble - it leasts the reasons at:
a) rumble is so out of fashio
b) it won't work with the sixaxis motion sensing (which is a last minute attempt to rip off the Wii-mote).
Now recently Sony announces that it's settled the litigation over the rumble. Rumble is back, long live rumble...
Unfortunately too late for early adopters of PS3, I can't see them keeping rumble out of games, it has become such a key part.
But it does give an interesting window on the world of Sony...
First off, why the kneejerk reaction to remove rumble, that has cost sony and it's customers dear. MS just got done for $1.5B for not properly licensing mp3 technology - you didn't see them suddenly remove support for mp3.
Also why go around hyping up the fact that no one cares about rumble, then look like fuckwits when you announce it's back...
The HMV near out office has taken only two pre-orders for PS3 kits and the shop is next to an office with about 100 video game developers in it - what does that tell you... I wouldn't bother pre-ordering...

Well it's out tomorrow! Retailers across the land are reporting vast under acheivement on pre-orders. Several major high street shops on Oxford St have cancelled their planned midnight opening.
One is opening in the morning and offering bacon sandwiches.
Virgin has only three people queuing for a console available in about 6 hours time...
Some chains are offering 10% student discount...
Someone selling a pre-order unit on ebay just saw it sell for just £390 (£35 short of it's face value - Wii regularly still sell on ebay for £200+ - despite only costing £180)
European version does not support all PS2 and PSOne games, despite what many retailers are saying.
Honestly if you're buying tomorrow ask for a discount - do it, because they're likely to give it to you.

Yeah i agree, ive heard nothing but negative stuff about the PS3 with regard to sales which to be honest has surprised me considering how well the 360 sold , i couldnt get one with a Hardrive till February. I know the PS3 is expensive but its not that bad when you consider the hardware you are getting. My mate has one on order so i am gonna go and have a look at it, i really wanna try out Motorstorm cos that does look very good and could be a laugh.
Perhaps it will go down and then sales will pick up? Im sure Mr Gates is a happy chappy!

I'm sure it's cool. The PS3 has had the most pre-orders of any console, just there's more of them this time! You cant judge a consoles success before it has been released.....I'm looking forward to having a go for sure.

I haven't even ordered a game yet.
It's just gonna be a pretty box first thing tomorrow.
I'm pretty certain that there is something in UK law that says if you buy something and the person you bought it off sells it cheaper within a certain period, you are entitled to the difference.
Probably won't open it until I see evidence that the price isn't coming down straight away.
Tis making me laugh all this anti PS 3 shit.

Nice. I think I'd want to get Tony Hawks or Call Of Duty, they dont seem to have them tho.
