Mmm. I wonder if I could source a pair of these clogs for the half marathon next month? And maybe a burlap tunic?

Lorrie speaks the truth. Proper running shoes are essential. That impact is being absorbed someplace and if it's not in the sole, it's in your body.

@sole discussion......that's why the life expectancy of homosapiens continues to increase... proper running shoes Wink
if cavemen had them, they probably could've out run the dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts.
native americans probably could've out run the English settlers trying to stake claim to their land.
criminals can now outrun the law as long as their idiotic sagging jeans don't slide down and trip them up Very Happy

@olskool - I think you might be on to something. Of course the best trainers in the world aren't going to help you if you aren't fit or aren't naturally faster than what's chasing you.

And, I have no doubt that the natives of North America were faster than any settlers that invaded. More so that they decided maybe to fight the bastards instead.

What about Zola Budd and barefoot running .. a lot of professional opinion lauding this approach, less RSI.
