I want to go on the record showing that Effel clear states above that this laptop would be 'absolutely perfect' if it had the three broken keys replaced. I've purchased this laptop from him to find out that it has:

-broken speakers
-broken USB port
-broken keys (even after replacement)
-extremely short battery life

I've had an exceedingly hard time getting responses from him via PM's which wasn't the case earlier when we were discussing the purchase of the laptop.

Hopefully posting this in a public space will garner more attention to the matter.

I realize the laptop was already discounted quite a bit, though I find it more than fair to ask for a partial refund for my purchase.

Personally I'd love to return the thing and get my full money back since I feel I've been rightly ripped off, but due to being mislead I'm stuck in a sticky situation: I've become reliant on having this machine available to me because despite it's flaws, it does run faster than my current one and I need the extra speed more than anything.

With that said I hardly think it is worth the asking price considering that it doesn't even have a fully working keyboard! On-board speakers, USB, and even battery life are one thing to forego, but a non-fully-functioning keyboard sort dismisses any potential for using the machine to write articles and/or program: the two purposes I purchased it for, both which were clearly stated to Effel in PM's at the time of purchase.

I'm keen to hear if the forum agrees or not that a partial refund is in order here. Am I out of line to ask for that? I don't think so, but maybe others here have a wise take on the matter.

Thanks for your support... hopefully he'll respond one of these days!

More than welcome to a partial refund in my opinion, they are pretty major flaws that should have been listed.

Really though i think you should get a full refund and effel cover any costs to post it back to him.

I don't think this needs to become a public hanging.
Using the forum to sell shit you know is defunct will not be tolerated.
If it doesn't do exactly what it says on the tin then don't sell it on here.

If it was me I be wanting all my money back and for him to pay to pay shipping to get the thing back, whilst it might be quicker that what you have with the flaws you've stated it doesn't really sound like its much use as a laptop.

Definitely not trying to make it a public hanging and was even second guessing posting here but he's just not responding to my PM's and to me it's a matter that should be handled as a high priority.

Effel, I'm waiting to hear if you are open to a partial refund. If not, then I want my money back ASAP and I want you to pay to ship this thing back to you. Please get in touch, there is no valid reason why you should be leaving me in the lurch like this.

Oh and cutting and pasting is not an option. I'm a programmer and a writer... I hit 100 - 120 WPM at my best moments.

As far as I'm concerned Effel may not have known about the issues, and although there's ample reason to be upset due to neglect, I don't think anyone should accuse him of knowingly selling broken wares.

Although I'm bewildered how you can replace an entire laptop keyboard and fail to then turn it on and push each key to test that they work... it would take all of, what, 60 seconds to do so? How many keys are on here...
