For my ebay auctions I just use a snipe. That way I dont have to worry about being at my machine when the auction ends. Also means your not caught up in any bidding wars. PLace your bid and dont even look at the auction until its over.

As for auction snipers - i agree they can be very handy but i get such a buzz entering a bid in the closing seconds - the anticipation is awesome!

& of course there's the fact that you've snatched them away from someones grasp at the last second, all for an extra quid!

Hmmm, maybe I need to change my Ebay strategy, I'm (as usual) as subtle as a brick and tend to just say "I want it" and whack in what I'd be willing to pay.

I've been thinking it opens me up to shill bidding though, a practice which really pisses me off.

As Pure pointed out, it's a cert that happened on my Undftds, ain't the first time neither, I've started tellin the seller to go fuck themselves when a second chance offer comes out, unless the other "bidder" is someone whose + feedback is not made up of $1 purchases....

Man I love it here, I might even end up becoming a bit more thrifty if I hand around long enough!

Oh and these Footpatrols, I put a max bid of £200, won't be upping since there seems to be a lot of interest from people on here it but figure it'll go higher anyway so I don't need to retract.

but like i said why bother bidding now,, its a waste of time if you bid now you'll never win with the same bid, you've got to do it near the end and sometimes it keeps the prices down
