I think he just wants to say, that UK8,5 is samplesize because its the best fotosize. It doesn´t make the shoe look too big nor too small. And that´s really the reason why samplesize ist usually 8,5.
btw: Here´s an example for a Sample in size UK13

No problem my bad. If you wondering what I wrote? I simply said that the reason why the bigger brands make sample sizes in size 9 is because they gonna be photographed and if you take a size US 5 or US 12 instead they look strange and different to the sketches. Compressed if you use the smaller size and stretched out if you use the bigger size.

Errrrrr, once again, NO, they don't !
Number 6 used to sell nothing but samples and the vast majority never made it to production.

Samples were originally made in that size as 9, in the US, was THE average with the highest percentage of males being that size.
If the shoe worked in that size it would most likely work slightly bigger or slightly smaller.
When they started making shoes/samples, I dare say they gave a shit about what they looked like in a photograph !

Fore sure they are not selling sample that are not in prod. in their stores. Don´t know what this No.6 is but in adidasstores u will not find any sampleshoes that will not be produced...that would be a bad image anyway. "Oh look, that´s a nice adidas shoe! Where did u get it? -at the adidas store in ..." And @adidas they have to tell u it was never produced...Sure...

Damn, I'm learning a ton from this thread... had I chimed in earlier I would've guessed they were fakes immediately, just based on the photos. They look hideous. But I'm by no means any sort of authority or expert what-so-ever. With that said, carry on...
