You could get the kicks delivered to some of the US members on here then they could send them along and mark them as a gift.
I need to do this also as Shoebacca shipping costs to UK mount up.

For the last time, the gift thing is a myth.
When items are sent, they are given a value on the packaging, when they get to customs, if the value, including shipping, is more than £18 they CAN but might not have VAT and Duty added.
If they do, it works out to 22%.
Fedex, UPS and DHL charge around a tenner for doing their job, the useless cunts !

That may be so, but it feels better thinking we're getting something slightly cheaper, even though we're not.
A bit like "free" banking.

I'd say go for it mate and good luck and let us know how you get on, 5 - 6 pairs that'll cost whatever happens.
You won last week's euromillions then?
I think you can pay in any currency on paypal?
Edit: Ahh fuck it, I've just ordered the FTC skates, I know I'd have only kicked myself when they went out of stock.
Just the darksidestars now and I think that best be it for now, unless I sweeten Mrs FC up with a few pairs of her own.

Word FC. Thanks for the thoughts. I think I've narrowed it down to 3 pairs... what can I say, I got some extra euros at the moment. If I'd won last week's euro millions do you think I'd be caring much about shipping prices or tax/customs fees? :p
I'm not feelin' those FTC's at all my friend. But to each his own I guess...
Where are you seeing the darksidestars available? I'd be really diggin' a pair of those ones for myself in a UK 10.

If you can contact the person or company in the US who are sending you the item, get them to mark the value down to less than $20, as pure said, I also ask them to mark the item as gift.
Never once had a charge when said person/company comply.
The bigger companies will refuse to do this for you, however. You'll get no luck with someone like Footlocker, I don't think.

Battosai, I've done this a bunch. Works like a charm. Only downside is if the package actually goes missing and you had pairs of shoes each marked at $20 when they were say $100. But if the package goes missing then there's also the bigger problem of where to source the shoes again (in the case that they were rare)!

That's the risk you take, I guess.
I've been lucky with that. Got my Upper Playgrounds and Warhols sent in a box marked $20.
