@fc: Your Tess really is lovely. I know it's a pain to part with such precious cars. Thanks for the compliments for the Kadett. I really put alot of effort in that when I was 17-18. I've always known my way around engines, thanks for being grown up at a farm but it's good to have friends who are good with paint sprayers to give the cars a nice paint job as well.

As for the Mk1 GTi.. I already mentioned below the pic that it was introduced commercially in a wider scale in Europe in early spring '76 and my GTi was initially registered in October '75. So if I'd go by the date it was in every VW dealer's lot, it would be a '76er but if I'd go by the date in the registration, it's a '75er. So yes, GTis really did come out that early. Very Happy

VW fest dates announced 15th august would any of the above like to swap my fiesta for the weekend. It's black with go faster scratch stripes, aero dynamic dints, a slight pot hole caused limp, and the best part of all floral steering wheel cover oh and a spare box of rubber gloves in the boot and a pandemic flu mask. Any takers ?

Always has the answer to lifes dilemas.
