Thanks for the nice comments, although Grimmy's Kadett and 1975 Golf Gti get my vote. 1975? Did GTI's come out that early?
'Tess' is a 1971 Triumph Vitesse Saloon. People think she's a Herald (which my parents owned waaaaaay back when) but the Vitesse is the big brother with a 2litre 6 cylinder engine that purrs - I've had kids think she's an American car.
Yes, Sab really really really don't want to sell her but no job, bank balance not good. Been tinkering with her tonight, she wasn't running right, took about two hours of tweaking this and that, then I changed two spark plug leads around...

@fc: Your Tess really is lovely. I know it's a pain to part with such precious cars. Thanks for the compliments for the Kadett. I really put alot of effort in that when I was 17-18. I've always known my way around engines, thanks for being grown up at a farm but it's good to have friends who are good with paint sprayers to give the cars a nice paint job as well.
As for the Mk1 GTi.. I already mentioned below the pic that it was introduced commercially in a wider scale in Europe in early spring '76 and my GTi was initially registered in October '75. So if I'd go by the date it was in every VW dealer's lot, it would be a '76er but if I'd go by the date in the registration, it's a '75er. So yes, GTis really did come out that early.
