Just spent two hours today trying to get the seatpost and forks and headstem out.... Only got the seatpost out lol think the headstem has rusted and fused to the fork so gonna have to work hard to somehow separate them.
Worst comes to worst I'll have to hacksaw them apart and source some other parts.
Don't worry SS I'll keep posting pics. Hopefully will have it powdercoated within 3 or 4 weeks...

Stick the whole thing updside down in a bench vice, with the stem in the jaws. Some WD40 down the end of the fork's steerer tube might help here. Grip the seat-tube and headtube and swing like a motherfucker. Failing that, a big soft faced mallet and a blowtorch are your friends!*

i think its either fused at the wedge inside the tube, and its definetely fused at the top near the thread of the forks and the headstem... mite take some quality soaking in a molasses? bath or something (apparently acts like an acid bath).
used a heap of WD40 and no luck so far lol.... could take a few weeks of hard labour!

Huh? Frame on the Specialized is alloy isn't it? Sweet bike Whiskey, although not burly enough for my style of riding
And damn e-z! Is that how it was delivered?!? Looks like a brake lever's been banging against it during transit, we used to see it all the time.

That's how it came out from the box. It could be break lever, but it's a bit too low for that. That's the lower pipe of the frame.

Yeah but pretty much all bikes tend to be boxed from the factory with the handle bars/stem cable-tied to the side of the frame. If they've not been secured/packed well they take chunks out of your top or down tube, depending on the frame's front triangle configuration. Regardless of how it happened, if that's how it turned up then I'd be on the phone demanding a new bike or at the very least some hefty discount.
