??? new star wars superstars
#61

Really weak.
They should've given the design side of things to Udox, they'd have made a proper job of things.

I love Star Wars, best films ever made. Even the shit ones. These designs are fuckin gash. Now, being a bit of an arty-farty creative type myself, I try and refrain from labelling something designed by someone else as being a bit gash if I can't actually list valid and feasible ways in which the gash item could be improved (unless it's those wack Pochoir shits, which were just total gash and could only be improved by being set on fire) Which made me think on how I would bust a Star Wars collab if adidas ever let me loose in their design studio. You know what I came up with? Fuck all. Nothing. Why? Because I realised that no matter how much you love the films, if you've passed the stage in life where you get hairs growing around your cock and balls then wearing shoes with little pictures of Stormtroopers and Darth Vader on them is all a bit lame really.

Or am I just pissed off because there's no hairy Chewbacca supes? Wink

I hear you but they could still have been a lot better designed.
The colours in a lot of cases bear little resemblance to the characters.
Just sticking Star Wars scenes and unadulterated characters on the shoes and clothing is fucking weak.
For fuck's sake, it's a collaboration, run with it.
If you can allow Family Guy and Robot Chicken to play with the brand, then let some creative firm work with the characters and throw Adidas into the mix.
IMO they've dome the least design possible.

I'm a huge SW fan myself, but looking at this collection I have to say it sucks. The orange skywalker shoes are neat (but I won't buy them, 'cause they're not supes) and the black death star vins could be ok in the flesh (but I doubt it).

The only thing that looks cool is this tee, and it's probably the only thing I'll buy (well, maybe those vins too...LOL...):

That white tee looks so similar to a non-adidas one I had a long long time ago in a childhood far far away, only a different colour.

All lame IMHO.

Promised so much (or maybe we wanted it to be so much) but with our old cynical heads on we ain't happy with the finished product.

A bit like when the prequels came out. Confused

fc will go as far as to admit to liking the AT-AT hi-tops

I had Empire Strikes Back wallpaper when I was a young lad and if I still had a few pieces I bet I could stick it to some cheap ass Footlocker SS2s and they'd look better than this crap.
