* For non UK members for a while in UK the price of Copper almost quadrupled around 5-6 years back so there was a spate of anything copper was being stolen.

In California, USA, copper has been a hot commodity for thieves for a while.   These guys (and maybe ladies too... I don't want to be accused of singling out males) were stealing copper from:  poles for street lights (YES, with "live" electricity running through it), air conditioning units of vacant homes and vacant buildings, copper wiring from new construction from vacant homes from vacant buildings.  Any structure that was vacant was prime for being hit and stripped of anything copper inside. The sad thing is that recyclers would recycle it with no questions asked on how some transient/homeless/bum could have so much.  Copper theft was a major problem for a while in our city (I work at the Police Department of my city).  Idiots.

That Rio model should come in a waterproof version so that the poisoned water can't penetrate them and enter one's skin. Eek. The leather part of those ProMods look really nice.

Interesting offerings!
I'm not sold on the leather, it looks like it might just be a painted split leather that has been printed/debossed.. If so it will scratch or tear easily. That said I quite like the wacky design.. Like a good Punk shoe, but it ain't a supe in my mind. Love that gum sole on the Rio, a bit like the grün recycled jobbies.

Saw the copper toes on Friday. Pretty weird. My wife saw the prime knits for the first time and quite liked them. Divorce grounds for sure.
