I think with fb its the whole "Ooh look I've got x number of friends!" thing.
A mate of mine (ahem!) created a fake user for fb to track someone down who owed him money, however the user was getting requests to be friends with people! That person did not exist!

No FB link to here for me. What happens on SSDB, stays on SSDB, where it can do no harm. That's what I like about the forum, it's one of the few places I can cut loose from the daily grind, chat with like-minded people, have a few jokes and not have to watch what I say too much, I wouldn't want to spoil that. It's always a good idea to cover ya tracks when you're out on manouvres eh?

A good rule of thumb is to only be friends with friends, or at least people you know... Anyone who you'd go for a pint with if you met them in the street ... this collecting facebook friends is proper bollocks unless you're promoting a band or something and myspace is better for that I think...
