I'm fed up with governments trying to control the internet one way or another - especially when it's down to the politicians to make the decisions (the internet is a "series of tubes", you understand). So fucking clueless and policy based on what the media will report rather than anyhting else. The UK Government saying illegal downloads will result in lowered internet connections and potentially having your internet cut off. Fuck that - if it's a crime, punish the downloaders as criminals. Slowing their net connection is a retarded solution to the problem. The fact this legislation came out after Mandelson had spent the weekend at the house of one of the heads of the british music industry is salt to the wound.
