My boy's football season finished today. In the dying seconds he scored an equalising goal to save them from losing to a team that they usually turn over.
The real wahoo bit is that it was his 3rd goal of the game and it lifted him into the position of top goal scorer for the season.

He's only 10. I was well proud of him.
The icing on the cake though is the big finger delivered to 'pitchside politics'.
Back in October one of the other parents complained to the head coach because they reckoned their son should play up front instead.
To keep the peace the coach rotated them to give a few different players a chance in that position.
I told my boy not to say anything about it and not to let it get to him, just to let his football do the talking.
Season ends with my boy top scorer and with 18 more goals than the other kid.
