I don't mind helping, but it's annoying when people post a cheap intro thread, ask a question, get help and find what they need, then peace out.

FFS.. have a look around the forum before you post silly questions that put peoples back up!

and if you want to stay a member of this comunity, you might want to contribute a bit to it!

Now go back to you're into thread and have another crack at it..

I think we're making a rod for our own backs with the "No intro-No helpie" ruling. It's good one in principle, one I agree with to some extent but the reality is most people will just circumvent it by posting up some two-bit,weak-ass, one-line intro then start elevnty million threads asking the same old played-out questions. They've no intention of contributing once they're got the help they need and we don't really need their intro either. We just end up with a forum full of wack intro threads from people we'll never hear from, which just makes the place messy.

Mods, could we not have a dedicated "quick question thread" so randoms can just swing by and grab some help (if we're feeling generous) or maybe we could remove a noob's right to start threads until they've been here a week or two and we've had chance to work out if they're a bit of a knobber or not?

Having said all that, where would we be without comedy gold threads like Adolf's and that "BOW DOWN AND KISS THE RING" guy. Laughing

That's not a bad idea actually.
Personally, I reckon that if people can't be bothered to introduce themselves properly then they should just straight up be ignored, you wouldn't stand for it in your personal or business life and you shouldn't have to put up with it in here.
It's plain fuckin' rude !
Stopping noobs from starting threads for a month is a damn good idea.

True say P, good manners cost nothing at the end of the day. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with us and for the sake of the forum we may have to let concede that we will never convince some people otherwise.

Personally, I'd rather not have to read through a load of insincere, meaningless intro threads that are only posted so the person can ask a question. It'd better if we could contain that type of person to one area within the forum where they can knock themselves out asking inane questions without polluting the rest of the place and getting people's backs up. Quarantine the motherfuckers until we're confident they're worthy. Laughing

perhaps we could have another forum thingy for noobs, and there they could start threads and annoy the hell out of each other, and after they have a certain amount of posts if they are still knocking about, they could then be free to post on other parts of the site? If you take away the right to start a thread, I can forsee lots of thread jackery...

Maybe we should close the forum.
We seem to have the cream of the crop already, if people really want to join, they should provide photographic evidence that they're actually interested in Superstars and have it made very clear that a proper introduction is required.
I'm bloody sure the quality of the incoming membership would go up.
