looks like I'm slowly turning into an iDouchbag (like the rest of you *shakes fist*)
I had to change mobile phone providers from optus to telstra due to major fall out issues in my apartment block... and today got a new white iphone4 as part of my new phone plan
now I'm considering an ipad for photo tethering at shoots, and even considering an imac instead doing major hardware upgrades to my pc... someone help, I'm scared

First of all don't be afraid, there's no reason to. You will soon figure out that your fight against iDouchbags has been pretty much pointless. That's going to happen around the time when you realize that those gadgets are much easier to use than the old stuff you used to have.

Steve- an iPad is just so fucking useful for anyone doing anything design related. Can't wait to get one. But I'll have to wait according to my pocket
And just get a Mac. Keep you PC too if need be. But I'm telling you- anyone who has an open mind will probably never go back to a PC.

Do it, Steve. I've got both iPads 1&2. If you're concerned about cost you could always go for a 1st gen. Yes, the second is faster, but there isn't that much between them.
Battery life is crazy good in my experience and once you've started using one you're never going to want to go back.
