On our way back from DC last night and the news reports started coming in: the major highway that runs on the south end of Toronto had been shut down by Tamil protesters! Totally messed up traffic when we finally got close to the city, and meant that I didn't get home until 1am.
Gutsy move - they've been protesting for the past month but this is the first time they took over a highway. Don't know that I'd want to be the first person to step into traffic...

Tamils are protesting every sodding where.

I was chattin with a few buds over brews on Sat and we were sayin all you have to do to get gov't support/$$$ in Canada is to protest and there you go! Sets a bad precedent for others who will come forth and say 'hey, our homeland needs $$ too for yada yada'....I think I'm gonna stage a one man protest for a) a job b) flex hrs c) mucho de nero d) the right to bitch slap someone whenever I feel the urge...

Supposedly we have the largest Tamil population outside of Sri Lanka. KT, they aren't looking for money, just the Canadian government to suggest to Sri Lanka that maybe they ought to stop bombing the hell out of these people.

Out with friends once n a guy is chatting away to me. He asks how u like steak as in rare medium burnt etc... I didnt realise what he meant n just said oh erm done on the george forman LOL LOL the guy was like u IDIOT my friends slapped ME. Am so BLONDE sometimes.

Sorry P but cooking steak in George Forman is far from fine. You're better off ironing your meat than sticking it in one of those things. It should only ever be considered as an absloute last resort if:
1.Your cooker has been condemned unsafe and you have no other means of creating fire at your disposal
2.She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed has put you on some strict weight-loss regime.
3.The sole of a much loved pair of supes has come away and you need something to replace it

See now I totally disagree.
I've cooked many steaks in a Foreman and they've all been pukka.
Didn't do it to get the fat out, I just used it to cook 'em.
Worked fine, double tasty, nice lines, all good.
