I would have buried an old pair of superstars in the concrete in honour of erm...a new garage...working with the old man? About 15 years ago I buried a pair of my old trainers in the ground/old fish pond when my parents were completing a new extension, they weren't shell toes (converse I think) but they've since move out but I'm sure they're still there.
