IB & Run DMC
#1

Hi folks
Just received two pairs of Superstars from eBay UK, and think they're not the real. I'd value your advice, before seeking the seller
Cheers

Some of the materials feel hard and shiny, rather than soft and supple. Some of the finish is poor, like glue overspill, loose threads, jagged edges. The print / embossed bit on the heal is wonky. These occur on both models, and there are a few more tell-tale signs.
These are only my observations, and I would gladly welcome yours
Cheers again

Hi jackie_pants

As said before, those white/fairway samples are the real deal (& are a great pick up!) Cool

...but i'm afraid it doesn't look so good for those IB's - they don't look right, are far to shoddily made & therefore i gotta say they are unfortunately fakes Sad

The same goes for the Run DMC's - they look wrong, have the wrong lace tags etc etc... Sad

Get on the case to the seller & get yourself a refund! Evil or Very Mad

Some people think i'm obsessed... but i just think i'm well dressed!

Hi bobby dassler,
That's what I thought. They looked odd as soon as I opened the box - poor finish, untidy stitching, wonky print, etc
I'll have a word with the seller (who's been mentioned on these forums)
Thanks again

Yeah I agree the IBs and first set of RUN DMCs look fake.

Those second RUN DMCs look alright to me Wink

Wishing it was like the old days again

not sure about the seconds either, the trefoil on the heel looks a bit big, and it's placed a little too high me thinks...

Question

They're also stuffed with paper which Superstars never are (that could be the seller who did that himself though)

Do you have a link to the auction?

Hi folks, me again

Could you please comment on ANY iffy bits on the IBs and Run DMCs I received?

The seller is refusing to give a refund atm. If I have lots of evidence showing these aren't originals, hopefully it will give me a stronger case

Thanks again Smile

Hi Jackie!

1) The DMC's have got the wrong lace tags (white with black trefoil) but should be black with RUN DMC written on

2) The RUN DMC print on the left shoe is missing a chunk at the base of the letter "N"

3) The trefoil on the heel is oversized on the DMC's

4) The IB's dont have lace tags (well not in the pics you posted)

5) The embossed image on the right IB shoe looks shocking compared to the left shoe (all out of focus & wrong)

6) The stitching is terrible on the IB's (wonky)

Both pairs are just generally shoddily made - bad stitching, poor quality materials used etc... & they are 100% fake - no doubt about it! Evil or Very Mad

Hope thats of some help! Smile

Let us know how you get on & post a link to the auctions or list the sellers ID for us all to see Wink

Thanks for the advice chaps. The IB metal tags were taken off by me. Also noticed the gold print on the upper heel of the IBs are way too high.
I think the originals came with a postcard or booklet ??
