My noob question for the week: Are these Bapes real?
#1

I have been examining these for a couple days now. Searching through the BAPE Yahoo fake guide posted, random other fake guides I found on google, and the opinions and pictures on here of course.

I also have looked at many fake websites to try to get a comparison. I still cannot make a determination. I'm leaning toward these are fake, just because they do seem sketchy and the fakes these days are getting GOOD.

Weak box + loose laces want me to scream "no" but I can't honestly say for sure

I'd have said yes cos of the box.
They made some more fakes of these recently and they are very close, unfortunately.

Thanks everyone--I think it's too close to call, don't want to risk it. I promised myself a few months ago that I would only buy Bapes from legitimate sites because they are getting so close. Not worth getting burned.

Stick to legit sites/sellers Wazz...its alot of coin to risk...I swear I saw these very pix before...Shocked If in doubt, its not worth the risk...something to be said about instincts - don't worry, the real smitty's will show up - timing as they say...

You can see heel clits in the third pic.
Isnt that an obvious sign that theyre fake?

Like most of us here i'd luv to add a pair to my collection along with all the other bape superstar collabs (there was 2pairs on bapes in my size only 2wks ago) but i'm to scared to pull the trigger its just not worth the risk and getting hit for £400 a pair or wotever for fakes no thanks.
Bapes for me are to hard to prove 100% legit i don't have the knowledge and until i do someone else is welcome to em

It's not the size of the feet!!it's the amount of quality on em

Heel clits are only a sign of a fake from the 35th Anniversary onwards.

Thanks Pokey...I feel ya. It's just so damn tempting...these and the Tate's are grails for me. I just hope the Tate's don't ever get like impossible to spot. The Bape's are so nicely faked, I would almost be cautious buying from a trusted site...they really are getting to the point where they are near perfect.

And ya...the heal clits make it a bitch to spot. People say the fake ones have larger ones...these appear small to me, but large is relative. sigh...

If you look at the laces you can see the white ones say both Super Ape Star and Super Ape Skate (maybe one either side?)...... it's hard to consider any ape stars on eBay to be genuine, unless you have complete confidence in the seller??

That's a good point, they can't be real then.

Nice one Mr SS - I think that's gonna be the new telltale sign on a lot of these newer fakes
