I belong to another forum that was having similar issues. The guy who runs the site found out that it was some people's web browser. I guess a new version of Mozilla Firefox (not sure the specific details) will open up many connections of the same site and 2 or 3 people will crash the site or slow it down as a result. You end up having 2 or 3 people with 15-25 open connections each... a net of 50-75 connections by only a couple people.
Just a thought.

I'm using Firefox and I is just got it again.
Do you mean that every time i go to a different page, firefox treats it as a new connection ?

I just checked on it..
If it is the same situation (looks like it's at least similar)
This is what was posted on the other forum I used to frequent:
"You guys gotta turn off your caching options in FireFox, it's killing the forum response time, as your caching "bot" scans and downloads each and every single message and thread in every forum.
I'm looking at IP addresses and see logged in users with 8-10 "Guest" accounts scanning the other forums. These are your caching bots in FireFox. STOP IT!
I'm about to completely disable the ability for FireFox users to access this forum if this doesn't stop. I don't want to, but it's killing response time."
I'm no computer expert... It just seems to me that it could be the same issue. Hopefully this helps. If not, sorry if I sent anyone on a goose chase.

Right, I've reduced the size of my cache.
Hope it doesn't cause problems on other sites cos that'd be a reet bummer !

Olstar have you considered asking for "Forum Donations" to pay for a better host?
