Movie News & Reviews
#81

This thread has been dead since October, so I am giving it CPR. Lets see if we can get going again! Laughing

Movies I have seen recently:

AVPR - Despite the reviews, I thought this was a bloody good film. Took a lot of the great parts from Aliens and the first Prdator movie and added them together. The hybrid pred-alien was quality. I knew it was gonna be good when right from the start a kid gets aface hugger on him!!! That never happend man, kids and animals are always safe. Not in this move! I loved it.

Beowulf - Very surprised by this one. Thought it was a very good evrsion of the story, with wonderful animation. An action film to scare the shit outta kids! Laughing

Rob Zombies Halloween - Having seen House of 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects, I was pretty sure I was gonna like this. Rob Zombie certainly has a flair for the dramatically deranged. The only problem was that the second half of the movie falls under the "remake" banner, and I think he could have done a better job paying homage to the original. The main failing was that, by the end, you actually want the heroine (played by Jaime Lee Curtis in the original) to get killed, as she's really annoying. I would still recomend watching this though if you are a horror fan.

Resident Evil Extinction - Very pleased with this film. Had more substance to it than the 2nd movie. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one. Great action and as always, the lovely Milla Jovovich looking sensational as always!

Wrong Turn 2 - Not bad, but not as good as the first one. Although Henry Rollins is quite funny in this.

Also, and old movie, but I had never seen it before, Swingers. Saw it for the first time at the weekend (it was on Film4 a couple weeks back) If like me you hadn't seen it, watch it as soon as you get the chance. It was money baby, money!

So, thats all I can think of for now. Until next time (which probably won't be long, I watch a hell of a lot of movies!)

I'm with you on that one, was a great movie. Managed to make it part of Valentines day, which cleared me from going to see any sort of chick flick crap, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it!
