Starbury
#11

I cant see the trainers as my works Pc is having one of its moments!
As Mr P says if they are trying to make footwear affordable to everyone then that is a bloody good thing to do and very rare in this day and age of excess greed that we are forced to live in.
However i do think Starbury is a crap name for a trainer! Just my opinion!

Hes making cheap trainers, because he wants to promote himself. Making well built trainers by a reputable manufacturers didn't work too well for him. I really dont know much about the guy honestly, but I have beef with him due to the fact that he left my team, the Timberwolves. You see his didn't want to play as the second best player on the team, under Garnet.(He didn't want to be a Scotty Pippen) So he left, and failed as a leading player. Maki9ng cheap imitation name brand shoes is nothing new.

Everyones gotta start somwhere, jus like adidas. who knows, in the 80's ppl might hav had exactly the same thoughts on adidas as certain peeps do on starburys's, i.e. its a poop name. Well i'd buy a pair at the price, be rude not too but yes starbury is a crap name but jus like ppl might have said adidas is a crap name, peeps will soon get used to starburys, maybe calling them stars or starbursts?! hey, im no mind reader,nor am i a historian.

Dude, adidas didn't copy anyone or undermine anyone in the 80's!

And if he wants to make sneakers affordable, come up with your own flipping designs!

Or, better yet, give them to underpriveleged kids for FREE!

Alright, I didn't get into supes because other people have them, no one I know does, and not because they have versions costing 1000+ dollars, it's because I like 'em!

And come on, not every sneaker by adidas/nike/reebok is expensive.

Puma maybe.

But I could find a pair of $15-$20 adidas in a store in like, 5 minutes.

And they wouldn't be shite.

Crossover=Air Force 1

Surfside=Stan Smith

S. Team=Wade 1/ Wade 1.3

SXM Trainer=Dunk-Regime fusion.

Jeez...

really?demmie pics please. I ain't running down adidas im jus saying wot peeps might have said back in the early 80's.

As for d designs, OK maybe he's pushing it slightly wid his designs but hey, at least he's helping underprivileged kids. Giving shoes away for free?!OK im sure he aint't poor but i is damn sure he ain't no bill gates financially so cut him some slack on that. Sure, nike, reebok, adidas, and i dare say puma u could get dirt cheap in stores. But theres a reason.

No one, for one reason or another buys them so they flop sales wise. therefore, they go for $15 to $20, which works out to b roughly £5-£!0, give or take £1.

I really dont see the problem with this, making decent quality gear for those who cant afford otherwise is no major crime, is it? Now i'm fortunate enough to be able to fund myself mostly, and i still find these pleasant enough. It's not alll about the status...

True, but if it weren't about the status, y do we buy superstars/ultrastars etc. y do we buy nikes? status.

This is turning into a conundrum on a next level so i'll sum up. @ the price, i'd buy a pair. after all, everyone's gotta start somewhere but they don't hav d same status as nike/adidas. I hope starbury's do though, soon.

They won't.

I just think he should make shoes and get on with his life.

Saying that other brands are bad because they SOMETIMES charge exorbitant prices is stupid.

I bought a pair of ultrastars for like, $30.

A pair of Converse Weapons for $10.

A pair of Forums for like, $15.

It's nice that he wants to help people, but he doesn't have to copy other brands, or say that other brands are stupid.

Even adidas has something sorta like this, the Adi Dassler fund {check the originals homepage, it's at the bottom}

You're missing the point. Stephon here is trying to make decent stuff more affordable for the less fortunate. Hes not saying that you shouldnt go out and buy other brands, hes judst ofering a qulity alternative.

Yeah, I think it's an admirable thing to do as well as highlighting how much we are overcharged by the more established brands.
