Oh my its all been going off here then!
Beastie Boys vs Kanye West?!! Thats a no brainer there aint no contest. I would put Kanye West in the Hip Pop genre as he is so mainstream not Hip Hop in my mind?
Its all down to an individuals taste which is right but this is a Superstar forum so for a lot of us Hip Hop/Electro etc played an enormous part in our growing up and so the Beasties are right up there with the best of 'em. Very clever guys who have a great ear for a tune/beat/sample and some amazing lyrics to back it all up with.
Its probably your age Brad but i think you need to go back and listen to the Old School stuff, the good shit! Do your homework!

We all went to the regular show but as part of the same mini tour, the Beastie Boys are doing Gala events, where they are asking people to dress up a bit.
