nice photoshop skills miss Pirate 
just play with a hue/saturation layers for the tints. You can apply it more precisely on a zone using the alpha layer joined to it. The real deal is with the selection : 1 or 2px feather should make the trick for you Mr.P
there are lotta other ways to do it though...
