Still rinsing San Andreas meself and Vice City too! Such amazingly good games, I could just waste hours of my life playing them.

Not liking it then Mr.P! I had heard similar comments from my mates about it.
Ive just started playing Battlefield again which is my fave game and i keep going back to it. The Best On-line shooter in my opinion.

Already stupidly bought the PS3 but I wish I hadn't, at least not on the day of release anyway.

My case against Microsoft is looking promising , the Office of Fair trading have told me that i have a very good case in not paying the £80 to get it fixed under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. The Saga continues!

Sounds about right, essentially if something breaks within 6 years of you buying it and not through mis-use etc then you are entitled to a refund or exchange as long as you organise getting the item back to the purchaser

Woolworths where i bought it from were most helpful and also contacted Microsoft (on three occasions) who told them that i could have it fixed for free and extend my warranty but then when i phoned Microsoft up to arrange collection they had no record of the converstation between the Woolies lady and the Microsoft worker and called me and the nice lady liars! Then the Woolies manager rang Microsoft as he happened to have been in the room at the time his member of staff contacted Microsoft so he knew she was no liar.
It has been a lot of hassle but im not giving in and paying Microsoft the £85 (its gone up five pounds in a day too!) to get my console repaired. The upshot is that i will now have to go through the Sale of Goods act 1979 with Woolworths which is unfortunate as my beef is with Microsoft selling goods that have known flaws in them but there you go.
If anyone else has or knows anyone with a 360 that has the "Ring of Doom" and is out of warranty they shouldnt have to pay anything to get it fixed , a product should last a reasonable amount of time and be fit for the purpose it was designed and sold for and satisfy the customers needs.
Im gonna draft a letter to Woolies now and i will keep yer posted!

Woolworths kicks ass
Fuck paying that though mate, you're right to fight it. Why should you have to pay to have faulty goods repaired? Trading Standards would have a field day, warranty or not.
Pretty sure it's Woolworths that will cop it really cos it's up to them to provide you with a refund or exchange and then chase it with thier suppliers (microsoft) to get thier losses back

Your right Woody and i apologised to the Manager of Woolworths in advance of what is now going to happen explaining that my beef wasnt with them at all but with Microsoft but i have no choice now but to follow the protocol of demanding a repair or replacement from where it was supplied from which is of course Woolworths.
I am going to send to Woolies along with my letter loads of documentation relating to this scandelous problem highlighting just how big it really is and may get bigger. A Microsoft spokesman spoke with the Woolworths manager and told him that the faulty 360's were only sold in the US and the "Ring of Doom" problem had never happened in Europe or the Uk! A blatant lie but i wasnt surprised.
The Saga continues!

I thought this thread needed resurrecting!
I'm sure you know sooper but microsoft have just announced all consoles with the ring of doom thing are gonna get fixed under warranty so hope you get it sorted if not done so already!
And, thanks to my wonderful lady,I got a 360 for my birthday a couple of weeks ago so we need more console chat! I'm currently rinsing Forza 2 and it's damn good I have to say, if you are into your cars you have to get this game.
What's good for the 360 then fellas? I'm tempted by that Lost Planet? And Bioshock looks wicked too! Obviously gonna get Halo 3 and GTA 4 when they drop too!

Just about to get Bioshock.
Lost Planet and Gears of War are must players, really excellent games.
Lost Planet especially for you cos you get to fight round Manchester city centre (ish).
