if you look at the Unions at PYS: http://www.pickyourshoes.com/casual/adidas_superstar35_con_union.htm

You'll notice that the stripe closest to the shell is dark, the middle is lighter and the third stripe is the lightest. This is what I was referring to - the stripes on yours appear to be all the same lightness.
