Side by side a slower chipped Mac wil process an image at the same speed as a faster PC.
Something to do with the architecture.

Yeah but the slower mac will probably still cost more than the faster pc
personally I can't abide macs at all, i find them impossible to use for design, just too much fucking about, wasting time I could be spending on more important stuff.

Mac if you got the money.
I've got an old G4 Powerbook and apart form not having a DVD burner it's still wicked!!!
I use it mainly for video editing and it still kicks ass, got an external 500GB HD as i think that it only has 30GB on board for video, photos and stuff
