Because sometimes people lurk around this forum picking up hints and info on releases.. we put in long hours putting together such knowledge for some non-member's benefit. So code names help.. a little.

i'm really surprised that Raptors get so much attention (eek, i sound like Rob calling Blunts overhyped). it's odd to me. most people have favorite sports teams regardless of the country or sport and wear the team's respective jersey or ball cap. but wearing a shoe with a sports team on it, i thought, was always kind of a nerdy thing to do. like an overboard team fanatic. "dude. come on. sneakers?" i was once looking for some black "USA" SS2's made in conjunction with the Olympics a few years back. some SSDB members heckled me about "Americans are always proud to wear their flag on everything". i never snagged a pair by the way. but, isn't this the same line of reasoning... sports team on your Supe or country flag on your Supe? Tif... would you wear Supes with Yankee logos and wording on them or Duke University?

I agree to some extent, I support Manchester United but would never wear trainers with their logo on, they would, I think, be hideous!
The raptors on the other hand, I didn't even know they are anything to do with a sports team, they don't look it.

I don't understand the hype around these either like with the Blunts but I think the team logo thing has to do with how close you are to the actual sport/league. I wouldn't wear anything with Swedish teams or flag on but have no problem with teams from other countries.
