hey, have been an avid reader of superstardb for a couple of years, but never thought to post...

bought my first pair of superstars around 10 years ago, pure accident, they were cheap and i just needed some trainers to take on holiday-and, like a lot of people on here i guess, the obsession began..

reckon i own about 40 pairs now, most of them still mint in the box, which my friends think is weird, but you can't beat a pair of boxfresh superstars...!!

have done the whole, driving round every footlocker i can, looking for new stuff-think my favourite pair i've bought are g6 staten islands, i have a pair i have worn to death and another two, which seem to be getting rarer..pride and joy is a pair of boxed super ape star, which i wasn't totally convinced were genuine until i read a great fake guide on here-paid £150 for them about two years ago (on ebay-don't judge me!!!) but, i doubt i'd ever want to sell them,so if they are fake, such is life!!

my big ambition is to get my hands on a Bill McMullen Ad-At-pure genius...

kind of hard to find time to read all the posts on here, so i'll throw it out there-i'm 38, is that too old to collect supes?!?

Age doesn't matter in supe collecting so don't worry about being too old for that. There are youngin's and granpas here. You will only be too old for supes when you don't feel like wearing them anymore.

cheers fellas-although i've looked thru the posts about fakes etc in the past, never thought to look at the intros section-kinda nice to know i'm not a freak!!
will get some pics up at some point-am a bit scared i'll be told half of what i own is fake, but over the years i've got wise to most of the scams i think..
am hoping to get some pointers as to new places to get supes-footlocker seem to be about the best in the high street, the adidas originals shops don't seem that fussed about superstars-i reckon if adidas opened a couple of specialist superstars shops, they'd be blown away by the trade-theres nothing worse than having money to blow (it doesn't happen much!!) and not being able to find a pair you want..and don't get me started on the grief from the other half when you tell her you need a pair of superstars but they aren't for wearing..!

possibly a pointless question-but does anyone have even a vague idea of how many models of superstar there are out there?and also-did anyone ever actually see number 35 of the anniversary models?i saw one once on ebay going for about two grand, but couldn't decide if they were real or not?
also-is anyone else as offended as me that the best adidas could come up with to advertise is ndubz?!?i know i'm showing my age, but please-ndubz?!?
