I don't imagine it would be a test to see how much people knew, more so a test to decide whether they were a tit or not Very Happy

It weeds out the 'quick fix' brigade, the people that only want to know about fake site/trainers or where they can buy a certain pair.

The holding cell idea is the best option in my opinion, leave them in there to chill for a bit whilst we poke them and stuff and then let them loose!

My 2 cents.
Forcing new members to only be able to post in the intro thread wouldn't be a bad idea. It would certainly end the "Where can I find so-and-so adidas model" questions that have fuck all to do with supes. Not sure if that's possible though. It would definitely require more admin work which would suck.
Also, people come to this forum, or I should say, link to this forum from different avenues. I stumbled upon the site by doing a google photo search for supes. So I never actually saw the page http://www.superstardb.com until I was, ahem, ever so gently guided in that direction. Laughing So I understand newbies missing the rules. Although, when they come with questions about Sambas or whatever, fuck 'em.

These kicks need their own theme music. walk

I think the locking idea is a good idea. Perhaps the intro section should become the newbie section, with a clear concise sticky stating rules and etiquete (sp?) and after a set number of posts the newb is then set free to roam the pleasant pastures of SSDB land. I don't know how practical that idea would be.

I think an entry exam is a bit much, I mean I know when I started out here I didn't know anything about supes except that I like 'em!Laughing

But you can roam and lurk for ages then post and still ask silly questions.

yes, but if they are locked so they can only post silly questions in the intro section rather than all over the show then that would help wouldnt it? If people want to lurk, thats down to them, but if they want to contribute then they will have to prove themselves first.
