@Pukka: hahaha, it does sound like a film doesn't it. I wanted to tell a bit about my quest instead of just posting pics.
And IKEA LACK shelves rule! They look nice and only cost €9,- You could fit 5 pairs on the shelve, but the toes will stick out a bit.
I have plenty of room to add more shelves but I think I'll stick to 5 right now.

get more shelves mate...got a shoe rack in lidl.. well cheap and fits in the cupboard perfect.... i thought that it would be fine just getting the one when i first started... now wish i had bought a few.. should be safe with ikea, but you dont wanna be wanting more of the same shelf and they dont sell em anymore

This looks superb, just convinced my girlfriend that I can give up the spare bedrooms by putting up lots of these shelves in the study and putting boxes in the loft. My project for the coming months!!
