Lo all

Wink

Hi there all nice to have finally got the time to post an introduction. Ok so here goes, my name is Simon Cooper and i am a 35 year old overgrown child from Truro in Cornwall. I work for BT during the day and week nights am generally in the pub or at home preping for the weekend when i am a DJ playing dirty Acid Techno or Dubstep (not always at the most legal venues) , I always had a thing for nice trainers but never one style in particular, had the odd pair of superstars here and there but was never obsessional about them. However about 6 weeks ago a combination of seeing a really nice pair on a random at a party, combined with the kicking of a 40 a day Red Marlboro habit, much trawling of the net occurred and here i am 6 weeks and 8 pairs of superstars into what my mates are now calling a habit only slightly healthier than the smoking ( I am still quit by the way, no patches no gum, just will power and my next pair of kicks to focus on)

when i have the time i will try to get some pics of the obsession so far, but at the rate i am going it will be twice the size by then

Welcome Simon.. remember, this collecting race is a marathon not a sprint.

yeah i know, but at the moment i am fresh out of the blocks and craving nicotine. No doubt i will calm it down soon but for the moment iam used to setting fire to £100 quid a week so £60 odd still leaves me in profit Very Happy

Half your luck to have the money to spend.

tell you what tho mr.pure it took me nearly 20 years of utter stupidity to realise i didn't have to spend the money on cigs (dont even want to think about how much i have spent over the years )

Greetings!

I've been on at my older sister to quote the smoking habit for years so I may tell her to start collecting adidas kicks instead - although she's more of a campus/gazelle lady rather than soops.

What Streak said, I think myself as a fan of soops all my life but only serious collector for 18 months and I only have around 10-12 pairs.

I think its more of a journey than a marathon, you pick up pairs, you sell pairs, some you keep, some your too scared to wear
(okay, I know, I know, I'll wear the underworlds at Crufts! Smile )

and some you were as daily beaters until they fall off your damn feet. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Just remember to enjoy it and take some pics to share. Cool

Welcome and congrats on quitting willpower is a wonderful thing when it works.

Welcome to SSDB Simon. Replacing one addiction with another is the way forward. I've stopped myself going crazy over new supes by developing a raging crack cocaine habit. I'm much happier, calmer and way less stressed than I was when I was collecting supes Razz

Welcome sir. Hope both ventures go well for you, although I fear you have simply removed one monkey from your back, only to replace is with another! Laughing
