Allright for you lazy teachers, not so good for us parents who have to take time off to care for our sprogs 'cos school's closed! Still, we took the opprtunity to test out the new sledge and build a dope snowman. Laughing

Oh yeah I've seen in the news that it's been snowing a bit there recently and it's coldest for 30 years or something.

I can imagine such things closing schools elsewhere in the world because not having that many plow trucks to keep the streets and roads safe but I don't recall schools ever been actually closed here due to any kind of weather conditions over the past 25+ years. Maybe if it's -50C and 4-5 feet of snow allover or more. Only slack you're given is you don't need to go outside for recess when it's very cold.

A bit of snow or ice over here Grimmy and everything goes into shut down. Complete chaos.
A mad convoy of cars were stuck over night on a motorway the other day, and a group of people were snowed in at a pub up in the hills for 3 days. We're just not prepared for it.

Snow does surprise lots of people here too when more of it comes at once for the first time but we adapt to these situations quickly so after a while things normalise and life goes on normally no matter how cold it is or how much it snows.

I could think of worse places to be snowed in. occasion5

With God's help I'll conquer this terrible affliction.
