Nice one Dregz, its all about doing your talking on the pitch, parents are more competetive than the kids most of the time, i have all that to come.....can't wait Smile

Nice 1 fella's. He's still smiling about it this morning.
Pure, I had to buy him a fat stack of football cards for scoring 3, and i'll be sure to get him somthing for the top scorer thing. I'll throw in a little something from you too.thumbup
Cracky you'll love it mate. Tired, cold, wet, windy Saturday mornings stood on the sidelines of a sloping pitch that resembles a bog. Great stuff.
I'm kinda gutted the season is over. Roll on the tournaments!!!

I did this not so long ago, I coached/managed an under 10's team playing mini soccer which was good coaching them (mixed ability) but a nightmare being a manager, the other team's parents would always ref and add on time if they were losing/totally biased to their team.

In the end jacked it in after arguing with one of my team's dads who was older than me, so therfore an expert. Rolling Eyes

I probably had more time for the lads on my team who weren't "blessed" with much talent rather than the ones who were led to believe (usually by their dads) that they were the next Rooney/Gerrard, Pele, etc.

Shame really as I loved being a coach.

fc coach not a manager

Edit: on an upside my Dog came 3rd in his dog show today in Derby. Smile

FC, Well done to you and the dog.
As a coach it must have been a headache for you dealing with all the politics.
Funny thing with the footy is it's never the kids that kick up a fuss, they just love to play.

100% yes.

Teaching a boy/girl a new skill would be a total buzz but arguing with a parent because I've put his "golden boy" at left back instead of up front would leave me feeling empty.

I also didn't like under 11's playing 11 v 11 on a big pitch - some of the lads (all tiny compared to every team we played against) on my team struggled with running with the ball and yet on match day there's parents shouting "read the line" "drop off your man" "in to go out"

Nightmare. Shocked

sorry Pure, maybe we could have an ex-coaches grievance thread. Very Happy

fc played Ajax 4-4-2 stylee

you know, FC, Toronto FC is looking for a new coach. If you can teach kids to pass the ball to one another you'd be a leading candidate.

I like the TFC away kit but it wouldn't work I'd get into an argument with the media and leave after four games.
