Football stadiums with athletics tracks definitely don't work. Are West Ham fans happy about going there? I wouldn't be.

They should have thought about what they were going to do with all these fancy new buildings before even bidding, I'd much rather they had spent the money fixing all the bloody pot holes than hosting the Olympics, isn't it going to cost far more than what it will bring in??
Spuds would never have gotten the stadium with their plans, there would have been uproar from the public, spend all that money building the thing just to have it bulldozed after the games have finished? Madness

It's worked elsewhere with stands that are removable and come right to the edge of the pitch space.

It's just approaching 8:00am here in the uk and the motherfuckin weekend starts right here for me and doesn't end until Weds night next week. Only fly in the ointment is it's Valentines day on Monday but I'm not gonna let that spoil things

Don't know much about footie myself but my thourghts are: Sullivan and Gold don't really give a monkeys about athletics but are just towing the line.
Spurs bid was madness and would cause immediate uproar not good but the longterm plan do up Crystal Palace did have some merit.
West Ham get the stadium in a few years time they say sod this football (Or the new club owners) Athletics nonsense track gets ripped up,THESE CONTRACTS GENERALLY HAVE MORE HOLES THAN A SIEVE
. (Anyway still plenty of cash to be made in the porn business) rip up the track , tax payers are then forced to do up Crystal Palace. RESULT

End of the day..if someone was giving away £500million..You'd be silly not to at least put ya name down eh
For spurs its the cheaper option than building a stadium in Tottenham which as been in the planning for afew yrs now called the northumberland project which has already been backed and passed by the revelant council..Its just the council wanted spurs to pay for it all with no grants/funding and also pay for a new tube station/travel infrastructure...if someones giving away an already to go flashy new stadium with no costs hell thats some saving and asset to gain.
(Arsenals emirates stadium was 50% paid for my its council and government funding)
So Mr levy (are chairman and AEG) aka greedy coperate bastards went for the cheaper option regardless of the heritage of a club that been in Tottenham since 1892.
Its possible and word is that Tottenham only bidded to push the councils hand and call there bluff cause like i said if you take away the football club from Tottenham there's fook all there and the area will pretty much die.
And lorre your right give it afew years that track will be dug up no doubt about it...
