Dunno where you live but a fair few martial arts gyms have a tough times program atm. If you can prove you've been laid off or you're out of work (just a letter confirming redundancy) you can sign up to the gym for free until you find work (usually a limited schedule like two nights a week). Not sure how many gyms have a program like it but might be worth looking out for it.

Read through all 500 odd pages of the Watchmen comics today. Well worth it - just gotta find a good copy of the film now (felt a bit cheated by the reveal of the bad guy - one lucky guess at a computer password and if it weren't for that nobody would have a clue who was behind things...)
