Sorry to hear Rob. Dunno with relationships to brothers and sister. Have a lot of friends with really good relationships to their brothers or sisters. Me and my sister we've never been best friends but we've arranged I think. Seeing each other two or three times in a year and sending best wishes to birthdays. Not what it used to be but a good arrangement for us.

Hope you can fix your relationships with your brothers one day. And not ending it up like the Dasslers. Fingers crossed mate.

Thanks guys. My family hasn't been the most important thing in my life for a long time. I've got a lot of scars from all the fights with my parents for the last 30 years. My younger brother suddenly blames me for hurting the persons he loves the most, our parents. He's forgetting he has done the same, probably more than me.

Family is a pain in the arse at best.
My friends are far more important to me.

Family are people that you are simply stuck with and I think quite often there comes a point when their shortcomings often outweigh the fact that they are family. Family is only important if you have a good relationship with them, if you don't then they are not important, especially when you have friends who would do more for you than your family would.

Rob, you do what is right for you mate, life is too short to let others bring you down.

im lucky that my close family are all cool, but i also have mates that i consider family. so if the ones you were born with aint working out so well you can always adopt new family.

I can understand why people say family is important but like Big Vern says that's only the case when you have a good relation. My mother is a cow and she only thinks how much grief she has after a fight. She never thinks about the grief me and the rest of my family have, even when she is the cause of the misery. She is so selfish. My brother is the same I guess. He was a complete bastard and treated my parents like shit. He now blames me for being respectless towards them. He totally forgets what he has done in the past and that my mother is to blame.

Fuck it, all these fights have ruled my life. Talking to therapist has made me realize it's time to choose for myself and my own family. If that means I'm loosing my brothers but it gives me the peace I so badly need well then that is what it takes.

I got other things to worry about. I'm expecting a baby boy in four weeks, I will loose my jOb and get a new one in Amsterdam. My girlfriend has no job. My house is for sale and I still have to get married some day.
